Our early childhood program is dedicated to creating a safe, encouraging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. Our nurturing atmosphere encourages children to learn through hands-on, interactive exploration. A play-based approach provides a child-centered, teacher-guided curriculum, in which children learn to construct their own knowledge. We are committed to creating a positive learning environment in partnership with parents to help meet the individual needs of each child.
Working with federal, state and local government, as well as private entities, we provide a safe and affordable preschool experience with educated professionals as teachers. We are committed to quality care and currently seeking NAEYC accreditation
The preschool, along with other programs at the community center, will be run in part as a co-op where parents are strongly encouraged and in cases of financial assistance, required to ‘pitch-in’ with various duties of operating and maintaining a preschool. This will allow qualified teachers to identify needs of these parents and offer support for issues they may be facing at home. Identifying needs may lead to individualized counseling, consultation, assistance or if the same need is identified among several families, classes and/or support groups may be formed to reach more families with the same need.
Professionalism is paramount in operating the preschool. To facilitate a professional, outstanding education experience for the kids lead teachers will be qualified individuals with a degree in early childhood development or related field.
The preschool has a capacity of 46 children and is divided into 3 classrooms (0-24months, 24-36month, 3-5year olds).
The preschool will work with local and state agencies to provide care for those on government assistance including: childcare assistance, food program qualifiers, etc…. We also partner with local services such as the library, fire department, police department, family services, medical assistance programs to provide opportunities for education and assistance.
